What information about you do we collect?
Pangea* collects your information to operate effectively and provide you with the best experiences with our services such as when you have download and/or use any Pangea mobile application (Pangea app).
The specific kind of information collected will depend on the context of your interactions with Pangea and the services you use. The following are examples of the information that may be collected:
•Contact information (such as title, name, email address, mailing address, phone number and contact preferences) and profile photo/s
• Payment information (including payment card numbers, billing address and bank account information)
• Demographic data (such as age, gender, nationality, home location and preferred language)
• Trip information (such as number of trips, places visited, recommendations, other people you have travelled with on any trip, your interests and places on your ‘bucketlist’, your photos and videos that you may choose to post, share, upload, or make available via social media, in forums or similar)
• Account credentials (such as passwords and other security information for authentication and access). This may include information that confirms you are a real individual user and not a bot or user profile established for the purposes of undertaking or sending messages within the Pangea app for purposes that are not within the use case or business conducted by Pangea
• Social media account links
• Copies of your correspondence if you contact us, including emails, messages, texts etc
• Information submitted through online forms, comments by you and/or your messages to other users or other communications
• Your feedback, including survey responses, market research participation and other feedback
• Sign up to receiving marketing or other communications from us, such as a newsletter
• Get invited to, register for, or attend an event that Pangea organises or sponsors
• Information related to your use and interaction with the Pangea app, our website and digital platforms.
We may also collect Application Data if you use our application(s), we also may collect the following information such as:
• Geolocation Information. We may request access or permission to track location-based information from your mobile device, either continuously or while you are using our mobile application(s), to provide certain location-based services. If you wish to change our access or permissions, you may do so in your device's settings
• Mobile Device Access. We may request access or permission to certain features from your mobile device, including your mobile device's camera, camera roll, contacts, sms messages, sensors, and other features. If you wish to change our access or permissions, you may do so in your device's settings
• Mobile Device Data. We automatically collect device information (such as your mobile device ID, model, and manufacturer), operating system, version information and system configuration information, device and application identification numbers, browser type and version, hardware model Internet service provider and/or mobile carrier
• Internet Protocol (IP) address (or proxy server). If you are using our application(s), we may also collect information about the phone network associated with your mobile device, your mobile device’s operating system or platform, the type of mobile device you use, your mobile device’s unique device ID, and information about the features of our application(s) you accessed
• Push Notifications. We may request to send you push notifications and other communications by text, WhatsApp, email or other messaging platforms regarding your account or certain features of the application(s). If you wish to opt out from receiving these types of communications, you may turn them off in your device's settings.
There may be instances in which the personal information that you provide to us or that we collect is considered sensitive personal information under the privacy laws of some jurisdictions (e.g. age, home location or city or location data depending on the definition of sensitive personal information under the relevant jurisdiction). We only process sensitive personal information in your jurisdiction if and to the extent permitted or required by applicable law.
We collect the above information in a variety of ways, including:
• Information you give us: We receive and store information you enter on our website or give us in any other way, including, for example, when you join an event or trip managed or organised by us. You decide how much information to share with us in most cases, but not sharing required information may limit your ability to engage in certain activities, such as medical information required to be shared with another party as part of a tour. If you submit any personal information relating to another person, you represent that you are authorised by that person to do so and to permit us to use the information in accordance with this privacy policy. You also represent that the information you provide is accurate.
• Automatic information: When you use or interact with our website and/or use the Pangea app, we receive and store information generated by your activity and information automatically collected from your browser or mobile device. For example, like many websites, we obtain certain information when your web browser accesses our website including your IP address, browser type, operating system, mobile network data, pages viewed and access times. This information helps us to communicate with our users and better understand them.
• Security systems: authentication processes related to fraud prevention and security and to address or remove Spam communications in the Pangea app or requests for connections that may be from bots or mischievous actors that are not genuine users of the Pangea app.
• Information from other sources: We may receive information about you from other sources, such as public databases, joint marketing partners, and other third parties. This may include information from your travel agent, airline, credit card and other partners.
• Age limitations: Pangea does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from our website or through the app from any person under the age of 18.
How do we use your information?
Pangea collects your information to operate effectively and provide you with the best experiences with our services. Pangea may collect, use, and disclose the information it collects for a variety of reasons, including for the following purposes:
• Fulfilment of purchases: We may process information relating to transactions that you enter into with us and/or through the Pangea app (transaction data). The transaction data may be processed for the purpose of completing your Pangea verified profile, supplying the purchased goods and services, customizing our services to your preferences, seeking your feedback on the Pangea app and keeping proper records of those transactions
• Response to inquiries: We may process information contained in or relating to any communication that you send to us by whatever means of communication (correspondence data). The correspondence data may include the communication content and metadata associated with the communication. The correspondence data may be processed for the purposes of communicating with you and record-keeping
• Internal business purposes: For our internal business purposes, such as data analysis, audits, developing new products, enhancing the Pangea app, improving our services, identifying usage trends and visiting patterns, determining the effectiveness of our promotions and meeting contractual obligations
• Administrative and other communications: To send you important information regarding the Pangea app, changes to our terms, conditions, and policies or other administrative information
• Marketing and promotions: To communicate news and promotions to you relating to Pangea-related products and services and other products and services we think may be of interest to you, and to operate marketing or promotional activities
• Artificial Intelligence: To personalise user experiences, analyse and summarise user feedback, survey responses and research materials, detect fraudulent or suspicious activity, segment and analyse audiences and improve our products and services. These tools operate under human oversight and do not produce legally significant decisions without human review. Where feedback or research data is used for analytics or insight purposes, this is generally done in an aggregated or non-attributable manner, unless you have agreed otherwise. You have the right to request information about this processing and, where applicable, to opt out
• Our legal duties: To comply with legal and regulatory requirements or demands in accordance with applicable law, a court order, subpoena, or other legal process
• Additional uses: We may also use your data in other ways as described to you when you provide such information to us.
The legal basis for processing your personal information is made up of one or more of the following reasons depending on the circumstances: (i) your consent, and/or (ii) providing the services you have requested, and/or (iii) legitimate interests, and/or (iv) compliance with applicable laws, regulations, court orders or other legal process.

Does Pangea share the information it receives?
As a global technology platform focussed on travel and experiences with the global geographical diversity of our business and users and the countries that users visit, it is essential that we share information with other parties in order to provide you with and to maintain the best possible service. The specific kind of information we share will depend on the context of your interactions with Pangea, and the services you use. Accordingly, your personal information may be shared with the following parties insofar as reasonably necessary for the purposes, and on the legal bases, set out in this policy:
• to any affiliates of Pangea, any acquired entities or acquired businesses; to any tour operator or trip organiser that has supplied us with your personal information
• to third parties not affiliated with Pangea when we have your consent to do so (such as when you have signed up for or participated in a trip or experience
• to our trusted business partners to process it for us, based on our instructions and in compliance with our privacy policy and any other appropriate confidentiality and security measures
• to our marketing and advertisement partners at organisations that we interact with to provide improved services and functionality within the Pangea app
• to third-party service providers (such as Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, MongoDB, Stream & Twillio) to (i) provide us with analytics so we can evaluate and improve our products and services, (ii) to help us identify existing and potential users and other travel app providers similar to our users, and (iii) help us to segment and understand our users by providing additional information so that we can develop the Pangea app with the best possible user experience
• when we use Google Maps Platform APIs we may share your information with certain Google Maps Platform APIs (e.g., Google Maps API, Places API). We obtain and store on your device (cache) your location
• to organisations which own, manage or operate the tours, experiences or services that any user may participate in whether at a Pangea organised event or trip or otherwise
• Other Users. When you share personal information (for example, by posting comments, contributions, or other content to the Services) or otherwise interact with public areas of the Pangea app, such personal information may be viewed by all users. Similarly, other users will be able to view descriptions of your activity, communicate with you within the Pangea app and view your profile
• to third parties not affiliated with Pangea if we have a good-faith belief that it is reasonably necessary to: (1) meet any applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request; (2) enforce applicable terms of service, including investigation of potential violations; (3) detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues; and (4) protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of Pangea, our users or the public as required or permitted by law
• to any third parties to the extent necessary with respect to a sale of all or part of our business operations or assets.
Does Pangea transfer information between jurisdictions?
As a global technology platform focussed on travel and experiences with the global geographical diversity of our business and users and the countries that users visit, it is essential that we share information across multiple jurisdictions in order to provide you with and to maintain the best possible services. By using and/or purchasing our goods and services, or where Pangea facilitates an event or trip, we may transfer your personal information across multiple jurisdictions. Accordingly, insofar as reasonably necessary for the purposes, and on the legal bases, set out in this policy, we may transfer and store your personal information in such other countries and territories where our third-party service providers, advisors, partners and consultants are located, which changes from time to time.
Such transfers may be to a country or territory which may not provide the same level of privacy protection as that provided by the country or territory in which the information was collected but we will take reasonable steps (such as entering into data transfer agreements based on the European Commission model clauses or clauses approved by other major regulators) to ensure that while your personal information is within our control, we will handle your personal information using reasonable security and confidentiality procedures to keep your personal information secure and confidential.
How secure is your information?
We implement reasonable administrative, organisational and technical safeguards and security measures to protect personal information within our control from unauthorized access, acquisition, disclosure, destruction or alteration, accidental loss, misuse or damage. We regularly review and monitor such safeguards and security measures. Although reasonable means are used to secure your personal data, no method is completely secure. Pangea cannot guarantee the security of any personal information you transmit. All transmissions are done at your own risk.
How long will Pangea keep your information?
To the extent permissible by applicable law, we will retain your personal information for such period as necessary to satisfy or to fulfil the following:
• the purposes for which that personal information was provided
• an identifiable and ongoing business need, including record keeping
• a specific legal or regulatory requirement
• a requirement to retain records that may be relevant to any notified regulatory investigations or active legal proceedings.
Where there is no sufficient justification to retain such personal information, such personal information will be safely and securely deleted, disposed of, anonymised and/or, where permitted by applicable law, blocked.
What can you do if you have any questions or concerns or want to access your personal data?
Our data protection officer will be happy to answer any concerns or queries you may have relating to the use or storage of your personal data. Your principal rights (depending on applicable law) include: (a) the right to access; (b) the right to rectification; (c) the right to erasure; (d) the right to restrict processing (including personal data relating to other persons who may be identified from that personal data); (e) the right to object to processing; (f) the right to data portability; (g) the right to complain to a supervisory authority; (h) the right to request that the rules on processing of your personal information are explained and (i) the right to withdraw consent. What about linked websites or acquired entities, acquired businesses or acquired apps?
The linking of third-party websites or apps does not indicate any association with or endorsement by Pangea. Pangea does not assume responsibility or liability of any nature whatsoever for the activities conducted or information contained in the third-party websites or apps.
Following the completion of any transaction by Pangea with any acquired entity, acquired business or acquired apps the processing of personal information will be subject to this privacy policy and as part of the due diligence prior to any such transaction an assessment will be made of how to implement the integration of user data in a manner that is consistent with this policy.
Change to this Privacy Policy?
This privacy policy will be subject to change from time to time. The effective date of this current privacy policy is set out at the end of this document. Information regarding changes may also be communicated by different channels (such as by email). Your use of this website and the Pangea app constitutes your acceptance of the current terms as set out in this privacy policy.
* "Pangea", "we", "us" and "ourselves" refers to The Pangea Technology Group, Inc. and its affiliates and any acquired entities or acquired businesses or acquired apps. An acquired entity means any entity that becomes an affiliate of Pangea by the acquisition or merger of another entity prior to or following the effective date. An acquired business means any businesses or assets or data acquired by Pangea prior to or following the effective date. An acquired app means any application that forms part of any acquired entity or acquired business or is otherwise brought within the operations and control of Pangea.
